§ 01
Overview
TutorPortal helps tutoring centers manage students, sessions, and communication with families. We take privacy seriously, especially because our service involves information about minors. This service is intended to be compliant with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
§ 02
Information we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), business information, student profiles (name, age, grade, learning goals, notes), session records, messages, and billing information processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers.
§ 03
How information is used
To provide scheduling, progress tracking, parent communication, and billing. Data is isolated per business and access is governed by role-based permissions and database-level Row Level Security.
§ 04
Children's information
Student records are created and managed by the tutoring center. Parents/guardians can view information about their own children only. We collect only what centers provide for educational purposes.
§ 05
Data retention & deletion
Business owners can delete all of their center's data at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent and cascades to all related records.
